North Mecklenburg Animal Hospital maintains a complete in-house pharmacy. We have competitive pricing and the assurance of quality manufactured products. We are able to have medications prescribed and ready for you at the time of your pet’s appointment or generally the same day as requested.
Refills can be requested by calling our pharmacy directly at 704-237-8851; it is best if we are given 24-hour notice. The patient must have been examined by our veterinarians within the last year to have refills on any prescription medication. Prescriptions can be picked up from our pharmacy during any of our hours of operation. Click here to see hours.
If your pet is on a long term medication, or has a chronic disease that is being managed by medication, it is important that we monitor blood tests that help us tell how the medication is interacting with your pet’s body, if the dose is still correct, and the progression of the disease. Sometimes more frequent physical exams are needed to monitor the patient’s condition. Questions or information regarding medication(s) dispensed to a patient can be obtained by contacting the pharmacist or speaking with a technician or the doctor that prescribed the medication.
FDA Warning: Internet Pharmacies Are Fraudulent
“The Food and Drug Administration is warning U.S. consumers that the vast majority of internet pharmacies are fraudulent and likely are selling counterfeit drugs that could harm them. The agency launched a national campaign, called BeSafeRx, to alert the public to the danger, amid evidence that more people are shopping for their medicine online, looking for savings and convenience.”
