How do I chose a veterinarian?
When you are looking for a veterinarian, make sure you choose a doctor who makes you and your pet feel comfortable and safe. It is important that you also find a supportive, calm, and caring environment where both you and your pet can be comfortable. An animal clinic that has additional in-house services can make your pet health care more convenient for you over time. Choose a veterinarian in the same way you would choose a pediatrician.
At North Mecklenburg Animal Hospital we want to exceed your expectations. We are committed to offering consistent, comprehensive, and quality pet health care. In addition, we combine compassion and respect with a dedication to improving the life of your pet through education and a close personal relationship with our clients. You can be confident knowing your pet is receiving the best medical services available. We invite you to tour our facility when choosing a veterinarian and to consider North Mecklenburg Animal Hospital for all your pet care needs.
What are your hours of operation?
Monday-Friday: 7am-8pm (urgent care hours from 6pm-8pm)
Sunday: Closed (aside from boarding pickups from 2pm-4pm)
Do I need to have an appointment?
We are most effectively and efficiently able to provide timely service to you and your pets if you schedule an appointment. Appointments are scheduled Monday – Saturday morning. Same day appointments are occasionally available. If you feel that you have an emergency with your pet, please bring them in immediately, however a call to our office is incredibly helpful to us in order to prepare properly for your arrival.
Do you allow urgent or same day appointments? What about after hours?
We understand that emergency situations are never planned, and we are ready and able to attend to your pet’s needs. Please feel free to bring any emergency to our hospital during regular hours. We also have specific Urgent Care hours weekday evenings from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm.
Same Day Appointments
We will always do our best to accommodate you if you are trying to schedule a same day non-emergency appointment; however, our doctors’ schedules tend to book up quickly (especially in the summer months).
If your pet should need care after our Urgent Care hours, we refer our clients to one of the following 24 hour facilities:
- Carolina Veterinary Specialists at 12117 Statesville Road, Huntersville, NC 28078 | Phone: 704-949-1100
- Denver Animal Emergency at 1420 N Highway 16, Denver, NC 28037 | Phone: 980-222-7115
- Charlotte Animal Referral & Emergency (CARE) at 3726 Latrobe Drive, Charlotte, NC 28211 | Phone: 704-457-2300
What is your cancellation policy?
We ask to be notified at your earliest convenience for appointment cancellation or rescheduling.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept cash, credit (Discover, Mastercard, Visa, American Express), and CareCredit.
Can I make payments?
North Mecklenburg Animal Hospital requires payment in full at time of service in order to focus on our patient’s needs, provide excellent customer service, and minimize costs. CareCredit, which is accepted as a form of payment, offers financing options for totals over $200.
Do I need anything prior to my first appointment at North Mecklenburg Animal Hospital?
If applicable, please have your pet’s previous medical history pertaining to the reason (diagnosis) for your appointment faxed or emailed to us. We will also need a copy of your pet’s current vaccine records.
How long can I expect to wait when I arrive?
We make every attempt to keep the schedule running on time; however, there may be a delay due to emergencies. It is always our utmost priority to offer every client thorough, individualized attention.
How should I prepare for my pet’s annual wellness visit?
An annual exam is performed to assist you in continued and preventative health care. We encourage clients to keep a watchful eye and make notes about your pet’s health and behavior. Notes will help to alleviate concerns and will jog your memory to questions that may be forgotten during the exam. Just as with our human family members, you are your pet’s best line of defense when it comes to illness, injury, or preventative medicine. No one knows your pet better than you do, and no two pets are alike. Our comprehensive full body examination of your pet will help ensure optimal health, but your questions are encouraged and concerns are welcomed. An informed client keeps a pet healthier and happier.
